I just ran across an interesting study on the effects of soft drink consumption on the risk of pancreatic cancer. Apparently the consumption of two or more soft drinks per week increases your risk of pancreatic cancer by a whopping 87%.

It seems that beer (or at least a compound found in beer) might reduce the likelihood of prostate cancer. Then again, alcohol consumption has been linked to increased risk of breast cancer recurrence…
I ran across an interesting article about cancer survival rates in a recent issue of Time Magazine. I’ve always had a vague idea about these things – e.g., prostate cancer has a relatively high survival rate, whereas pancreatic cancer has a very low survival rate – but I’ve never really had a good feel for the details.
