We just got back from a vacation where we stayed at a condo but ate out dinner almost every night. Breakfast and lunch were taken at the condo. Most of the restaurant dinners yielded leftovers which we ate for breakfast or lunch. What I noticed about the eating habits on vacation is there was no at-home (at-condo?) snacking. Since I had no bags of chips, ice cream, etc, there was no eating while watching TV or surfing the net. I had brought along a DVD to watch one evening and packed one bag of microwave popcorn along with it. That was the extent of the snacking on the entire vacation.

Yeah, I was just thinking about the sodium angle. I think that can add a lot of noise to my weigh-ins at times.

Totally agree that it's easier to lose weight at home! Another BIG difference between restaurant meals and home cooked meals is the sodium content. I've just now begun to realize the effects this has on my short term weight.
