Best iPhone Arm Band for Running

by mike on April 13, 2010 · 2 comments

As a followup to yesterday’s post about Nike+ vs. RunKeeper, I’m in the market for an iPhone arm band. I don’t like holding my phone when I run, and I also don’t like having it bounce around in my pocket (I wear loose shorts). So…

I’m looking for recommendations. My main concern is that I carry my phone in an InCase Slider, so I’d like to find an arm band that is either compatible with that, or which provides a reasonable replacement for it.

After hunting high and low, it’s starting to look like the MarWare SportShell Convertible is the best thing on the market for my needs (there’s an iPod Touch version, too). Of course, I haven’t tried it out yet, so I can’t be sure. But the reviews are decent, and the price is right — $22 for a convertible hard case plus an arm band.

If you have any recommendations, please leave a comment.

I bought Griffin armband at staples a few months ago without doing much research. I found the armband uncomfortable; it always felt too loose but if I tightened it buttons would constantly be pressed interrupting my workout. I have since invested in a belt to carry my iPhone and am very happy with it. It’s sleek, low profile and I can carry my keys or other items if I want to. The one I got is by spibelt and it’s no dorky fannypack. I highly reccomend http://www.spibelt.com

Dave: Thanks. If the MarWare doesn’t work out, I’ll check it out — I’ve seen rave reviews of the SpiBelt in the RunKeeper forums.
